first that nothing was really blooming now and to wait until spring. We did ask for our money back. Not worth your time now.
It was nice but overpriced. I have visited many times for different events so I cannot say I don't enjoy it. Bring your own food and wine if you are on a budget. A membership really is valuable if you are close enough to go often.
We attend seasonal events at the gardens since we live locally. The pictures here are from their Chinese Lantern Festival event. It was a different perspective to see all these animal lanterns lit up throughout the gardens. The event was surely a success since many of their dates were sold out. Enjoy your visit to DSBG! ☺
Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is quite a beautiful place to visit. It's relatively young in age compared to larger and more established gardens throughout the USA. However, its future is bright with a well thought out master plan. There is room to grow. So, if you are a "Green Thumb" gardener passing through the Charlotte area, then check this garden out. You won't be disappointed in its youthfulness. Just don't compare it with the big league famous gardens since its not at that level yet.
Went for the Chinese lights festival. Entry line moved fairly quickly - do order your tickets on line before you go - makes it easier and ensures entry. Was worth the trip, although some of the accompanying sound tracks were auditorially aggravating. Nice evening. Nice touch to provide samples off the moon cake. Probably wouldn't have paid $6 for one without a sample first.
I love visiting in all seasons. In the warmer seasons the gardens are beautiful and blooming. The Independence Day activities are great with fireworks at night. The gardens at Christmas are adorned with beautiful lights and there are activities for the kids, including Santa pics and carriage rides. There are food trucks on some days as well as a variety of other special events throughout the year. You can easily spend a day here even without a festival!
There was only one beautiful exhibit opened, the orchids. The rest was bare flowers and trees. It was very cold and dismiss outside. The place could have put the garden light show on for us since only 3 other families were there with us. The cashier could have told us
